Mystery Solved!

Hannah has Roseola, it’s a virus. It starts with a fever for 3-7 days, and then 12-24 hours after the fever goes away a rash shows up. So tonight, almost exactly 24 hours after the fever ended, the rash showed up:

If you look closely you can see tiny red bumps. The rash doesn’t itch so that’s good. The real blessing is that when she was most contagious, the 2 days before she got the fever, we were on vacation so we didn’t go to church and she didn’t expose 30 kids in the nursery.

There isn’t anything you do for Roseola, and now that the fever is gone she isn’t contagious anymore. Good to know why she was sick, and now she has the antibodies so she won’t get it again. It was a bit of a rough week, but it was a good reminder of how much support we have. Thanks for your well wishes and prayers.

I’m so relieved to hear you figured it out, but am so sorry you guys had to go through that. How scary to have such a high fever!

Oh…I am SO glad you finally know what she had! The doctor thought Jackson had that awhile ago. Hope she begins to feel better soon!

The worst of it was not knowing, and all the procedures she had to endure that didn’t tell us anything. She was a trooper about the fever and we enjoyed a few extra cuddly moments. Now I’m hoping her joy will return as the rash fades, she is sooooo cranky.
