clapping

I love how she ends with a flourish

teeth

Hannah has been rocking the same 3 teeth for a while, the bottom front two and one on top. Of the 4 teeth on the top in front, she has the far left one, we call it snaggle tooth. The other 3 tops ones have been working their way down for a couple weeks, and the one next to snaggle tooth finally cut through today, so now she has 4. The next 2 look like they’ll cut through very soon.

Here are some videos of our weekend so far.

good thing it’s cute

It’s time to get out the humidifier, Hannah’s got another cold. The humidifier does look like an elephant, so that’s fun.

The only picture I’ve been able to get of the monkey walk is blurry, but you get the idea:

the monkey walk

She has been enjoying helping me with the drawer locks:

she had a blast pulling everything out of the drawer

and also enjoyed testing the new latches

Recently she’s been fighting her naps, there is much screaming involved, and now that she can stand up, there is a lot of me going back to her room to lay her back down (she can’t just sit down and go to sleep once she’s up, she’ll either stand and yell forever or sit back down too hard and scream). I’m hoping it’s just a phase, I’m not a big fan of the screaming.

She tried chicken and beef this last week, not very bigĀ piecesĀ of either, but now we can officially declare her a carnivore.

She had her first lego experience:

and worked on her drumming skills:

and did lots of laundry:

yet to be filmed

last week Hannah gained some fun new skills that I have yet to catch on camera: now she claps, can open drawers (I have installed 1 drawer lock, many many more to come), and is starting to do this hilarious monkey walk where she walks on her hands and feet, she strains to try and stand from that position, but she still needs something that is 6+ inches off the floor to push off of to stand. She will push up off of me and freestand for a second or 2 before toppling over. She also likes to stand and then lunge forward and she’ll get a step or 2 in before she topples. Adam says she needs to get 5 steps in a row before it counts as walking, rather than falling with style.

Cruising

I wanted to get a video of Hannah’s new cruising skill, so I set up a collection of things she could move along, and then of course she chose to go the other direction, but you still get to see her mad skill. =)

I can’t decide what I like better, the “proud mommy” look I give Adam when she starts cruising, or the fact that we’re listening to low rider.

I’d like to make a video of Adam sitting here building a lego star wars “Y-wing fighter” and embracing his inner 12 year old, but he says he won’t put on pants, hahahaha. =)

Kitty

Hannah loves her kitty

and maybe the kitty loves her?

pushy

Hannah loves walking, but she can’t do it unassisted, so our backs are starting to get a little sore. Luckily the nursery has this fun thing she can push and walk behind

and my parents have a fun walk behind at their house too, and Hannah enjoys sharing it with her cousin Henry

at least we got a good deal

Our house was a good deal, partly because it’s not exactly new (oh and it’s delightfully tiny). When we had the inspection before we bought it the inspectors pointed out that the furnace was at the end of it’s life and would probably need to be replaced in the near future, and the chimney needed repair. Since then we’ve (mostly Adam):

  • removed popcorn ceilings, re-textured and repainted them
  • removed a wall in the kitchen to make a larger kitchen/dining room
  • painted the walls
  • tore out the carpet and linoleum, shellacked the sub floor
  • installed laminate wood flooring
  • had the bedrooms re-carpeted
  • installed new trim along the floors
  • dropped an Ethernet line into the back bedroom
  • replaced the oven that broke the week Hannah was born
  • replaced the water heater that wasn’t broken but the water heater repairman said it was (boo!)
  • had our huge maple trimmed by an arborist
  • replaced the fixture on the kitchen sink
  • replaced the main toilet with a dual flush toilet
  • plus all the weeding, lawn mowing, watering, leaf raking, etc.

and now the freezer is on it’s way out, so it’s the next on our list. So we are praying that the furnace doesn’t need to be replaced this winter as we’ve kept ourselves plenty busy with other projects. Once the house gets below 65 we’ll be turning the furnace on, so we’ll keep you posted. =)

book chase

does this mean she’ll be a book worm, or the kid that tears the pages out of books to eat them?

chaser

hannah used to just sit and watch me vacuum like this
watching mommy vacuum
Now she “chases” me
chasing mommy as she vacuums
She also loves to pull herself up on the babygate that keeps the dogs out of her room and yell, sometimes she’ll even get a toy and bang it across the bars, anything to keep us laughing I guess. =)
