Smiles

Hannah is smiling more and more now, and even some when she’s awake. They aren’t in response to use yet, but we still get really excited when we see them. I can’t wait until they are responsive and for the giggling.

loves

Have I mentioned how much Hannah loves Adam? She really really loves him.

growing baby

Hannah is 4 weeks old today! This morning when I was feeling exhausted and overwhelmed Adam reminded me that the pediatrician told us colic peaks at 5 weeks and then gets better, so hopefully we’re just a week away from the road to more sleep and less fussing.

Yesterday Hannah weighed 9 pounds, 14 ounces. She’s doing great. I put up some new pictures. We’re enjoying some of the funny faces she makes.

Happy Hannah

Hannah had a 3.5 hour stretch between feedings last night, so that was awesome. I don’t actually get to sleep for 3.5 hours, since that’s counting from the start of a feeding to the start of the next, and it takes at least half hour to feed her and get her back to sleep. It was still a nice chunk of time though.

This morning Hannah and I were laying in bed, she’d fallen asleep next to me mid feed and I was just watching her. Adam was getting ready and picked her up to cuddle for a few. She spit up on him which was pretty funny, since she has just recently started spitting up so it still surprises us. Adam was very calm, so that’s a good sign for all the years of vomiting to come. Luckily he didn’t have his shirt on yet so the clean up was easy.

Hannah and I went to bible study this morning. Then came home and the guy came to see why our water heater is leaking. Apparently it’s leaking because it’s broken and can’t be fixed. This house must be feeling jealous of all of Hannah’s attention so it’s falling apart, first the oven broke, now the water heater. Thankfully it’s tax return season so we have the money to fix things as they happen. It’s also nice that these fixes are investments and will make the house worth more.

Then Hannah and I took the dogs to the park for some fetch, and then went to hang with Henry, Annette and Max at my parents (they are house sitting while my parents are at the coast). Henry was nice enough to share his swing. We’re hoping to meet up with them for Applebees after Max get’s off work tonight if it’s not too late.

Tomorrow I’m planning to take Hannah to Birth-to-three to get her weighed and maybe meet some other moms. Max and Henry may come too, if they’ll have time before they head to UO to meet Annette for lunch between classes. I’m really excited to see how much Hannah weighs, my guess is 9.8, we’ll keep you posted. =)

Beach

Hannah celebrated being 3 weeks old with a trip to the coast. My mom and I went Thursday and were joined by the guys on Friday. Jacci, Katie and Rachel also came out Friday. I wore Hannah in her pouch to the beach on Thursday, and Adam wore her in his carrier on Saturday. I think she slept through all of it, but at least we can tell her she’s been to the coast. The dogs loved running on the beach, and the baths the girls gave them.

She was really good thursday and friday night, and Adam and I got to sleep in on Saturday and Sunday since she had other entertainment between her 7-10am feedings.

Adam gave her a bottle on Saturday and it went really well. It’s neat for him to be able to fed her, and it’ll be nice for me to be able to be away from her for more than a couple of hours if needed.

That’s all I have to say for now. I’m still working on adjusting to the lack of sleep, and my brain is pretty scattered. =)
